Amid the Coronavirus pandemic and rise in the number of active Covid-19 cases, the Maharashtra government declared a night curfew from December 22 to January 5 in the financial capital. While taking strict action against deviants, Mumbai Police conducted a raid at Dragonfly club situated in Hotel JW Marriot, Andheri. The raid took place on Tuesday, at around 2.30 am, where police arrested cricketer Suresh Raina, Sussane Khan, Singer Guru Randhawa along with other celebrities under section 188 of IPC, Bombay Police Act and Epidemic Disease Act.

Mumbai police released a statement, which stated, "Offence has been registered u/s 188, 269, 34 IPC and u/s 51 NDMA against 34 persons at Sahar police station after raid was conducted at 2.50 AM at Dragonfly pub, for keeping establishment open beyond permissible time limit, not following Covid norms such as social distancing, not wearing face mask."

As per the reports, 34 people were arrested by the Mumbai police along with hotel staff. 19 out of 34 people were from Delhi and Punjab. The cricketer Suresh and Guru were later released on bail. Well, reports also suggested that singer Badshah was also present at the party but left after police came.

Overall, as sincere civilians, the celebrities should follow the COVID-19 norms and also need to inspire their fans for not breaking the protocols. But now, they are on bail and hope from next time, they will follow the curfew rules and Coronavirus norms too.
