"Why are they suddenly writing about Hrithik's deal with Adlabs all over again, as though it had just happened? The deal was mooted some time ago. And the media wrote
about it. Now suddenly there's a revival of interest in the deal, for no rhyme or reason!" says Rakesh Roshan a tad angrily from London.
He has just come away from IIFA at Yorskshire where both the father and son Roshans were given awards.
Says Rakesh proudly, "While Hrithik got the best actor award for Dhoom 2 I was given an award for most creative director. It feels wonderful when both of us are up for
recognition."
Coming back to the much talked-about Adlabs deal, the prolific director explains, "The deal is no secret any longer. But some of the so-called information being given came
as news even to us.
The truth is, nothing has been finalized, and we don't intend to finalize anything until next year. There's no question of finalizing the directors
when the projects that Hrithik will do haven't been discussed, let alone decided."
Adds the protective father, "Even Hrithik is very annoyed by this constant discussion on the deal. He's busy trying to complete Jodha-Akbar before the monsoons."
In fact Hrithik had spoken to me about the deal some time ago. "Yes, I've signed adeal with Adlabs. But I can't discuss the details. All I can say is is, it's deal where I've the
freedom to choose my directors.
And no, there's no truth to the rumours that one of the directors will have to be my father. I'd like to work with some of the new
talented directors whose work I like."
Hrithik had mentioned the name of Saket Chowdhary, the director of Pyar Ke Side Effects.
