Has Preity Zinta arrived? From the looks of it, she sure has. Judging by her immense popularity, she is definitely among the top five actresses today. But the self tagged showman Subhash Ghai who has launched careers of Jackie, Madhuri Dixit and Manisha to name a few, would rather believe that only he can command an almost unconditional respect from his stars.

It was with this halo around him that Ghai approached Zinta for his next film. He must have forgotten the disastrous response to his last film Yaadein when he refused to get off his high horse and demanded Zinta come over to his office for a negotiation. That wasn`t any issue for the Rajput actress but over the past two years she has got accustomed to working with Aamir, Farhan and other thorough professionals and a good amount of discipline has rubbed off on her. And so in her easygoing manner, she presumed `negotiation` would entail a discussion and possibly a narration of the script too.

Phew, that`s where she went wrong. Not because there wasn`t any script in the first place. But Ghai has never discussed a script with his stars. He assumes every actor worth his salt would make it his or her priority to be a part of his film. Needless to add, Preity said a firm "No" and feels that to demand a bound script from "whosoever is one of the most sensible things to ask for."
