Other producers might be scared to release their films alongside any Yash Raj film, but these rules don't apply to the magnanimous Rajnikath.
The attitude is understandable since Rajni's movie is said to have grossed nearly Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crores) in advance bookings from 17 theatres in Chennai. The film had a great opening with windows at most of the cinemas displaying houseful boards across the country.
The Tamil version of Sivaji opening at various mainstream theatres in Mumbai also didn't make it easier for the heavily hyped Yash Raj flick.
As for JBJ, there were a lot of expectations owing to the names involved but it could not take a flying start like Dhoom:2. On the opening day, it could not generate houseful collections in many theatres. The film however had a decent opening and is expected to cover its investments from metros and multiplexes.
Now the fact that Amitabh Bachchan played just a bit part in JBJ is little consolation for the megastar since this was one of his son Abhishek's big releases. But some things can't be helped and even some one as big as Big B has to accept them as they are. May be better luck next time, Mr B!!
