Sameera Reddy will host AXN Action Awards Show Sunday 24 Jun 2007.

The awards are instituted to recognize and encourage the emergence of the Action genre in Bollywood.

While action has always been an important ingredient of Bollywood formula films only recently have films such as Krrish, Don and Dhoom attempted to enthrall audiences almost exclusively with stunt sequences.

Sameera Reddy was asked to host the show by AXN because of her role in the action oriented film Naksha.

"They came to me after seeing films like Naksha. It suited my image," Sameera told.

The actress, who loves to do her own stunts, is counted amidst the boys by her co-stars but she tries not to be carried away with the tag.

"I'm still a girl when I get hurt. I had a lot of cuts when I fell on a glass table once. But I turned around very bravely, and the crew on my set clapped. But after that I cried and called my mom," says Sameera.

Sameera is hosting the show as a one-off assignment and has no ambitions of becoming a regular TV show host.
