When you think Rani Mukerji, you think versatile, powerful and genuine and yes, she delivers these exact emotions with this film. Her portrayal of Debika Chatterjee is captivating, evoking empathy and admiration in equal measure. And it is this powerful narrative and the stellar performances that have garnered the film widespread acclaim, earning it recognition at the prestigious Zee Cine Awards and Filmfare. Rani Mukerji won the Zee Cine Awards' Best Actor - Female and the Filmfare Awards' Best Actress in Critics for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.
On the World Television Premiere, Rani Mukerji said, "For me, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway is not just a film; it's an emotional journey that reflects the resilience of a mother's love. The aim was to bring Sagarika's story on celluloid through Debika's character and to make the audience experience the pain that a mother went through when she was separated from her children. And I am extremely proud of this film, the journey and the impact it had on the audiences which eventually led to the film's huge success. Now, I am excited to see Zee Cinema take this film to homes across the country.`
Ashima Chibber adds, "How can separating a child from her mother be an option? How can anyone think of it as an option? This was this first thing that came to my mind when I heard of the case. We wanted to make this film universal and it will definitely connect with audiences because at the end of the day were all born to mothers, no matter what relationship you have now. Rani Mukerji is really compassionate, sympathetic and supportive as a person so I couldn't think of anyone else when I was prepping for the film. As a director, 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway' has been a labor of love, a story close to my heart that celebrates the impossible spirit of a mother. I am excited for viewers to experience this journey on the television`
