Zee Talkies, the leading Marathi movie channel in Maharashtra, has officially launched the second edition of 'Talkies Kathayan Chashak,' inviting aspiring screenplay writers to submit their creative entries in Marathi. Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2021, which received an impressive 800 entries from aspiring writers across the state, this year's contest aims to further engage the vibrant storytelling community in Maharashtra.

Participation is open to all individuals aged 18 and above with no zero registration/ participation fee. 'Talkies Kathayan Chashak' encourages submissions across a wide range of genres, including comedy, horror, family drama, romance, motivation, devotion, and children's stories. Screenplay entries can be submitted via email at talkieskathayan@zee.com with complete contest details available at: https://zeetalkieskathayan.zee5.com/tnc.html

The final date for submitting entries is October 15, 2024, with winners set to be announced in January 2025 during the prestigious on-ground award ceremony of 'Maharashtracha Favorite Kon? 2024.' The winner will not only secure a chance to make their debut as a screenplay writer with Zee Studios or Zee Talkies but will also receive a cash prize, making this an exciting opportunity for creative talent across the region.

Renowned for its innovative initiatives and consumer-centric engagement, the channel has produced eight original films with direct-to-satellite releases, which have achieved exemplary ratings during their premieres.

Bavesh Janavlekar, Business Head - Zee Talkies, Zee Yuva, and Zee Chitramandir & Business Head - Zee Studios Marathi, emphasizes the channel's commitment to nurturing aspiring storytellers. `We want to give an opportunity to every aspiring storyteller. We intend to reach the smallest towns of Maharashtra, where a storyteller resides, and help them tell their story through us. Talent resides in every part, and Zee Talkies gives creative people that opportunity through this initiative," he stated. "This contest aims to draw out many creative writers who haven't yet had their break, providing a unique chance to see their stories turned into films.`

The 'Talkies Kathayan Chashak' initiative reinforces Zee Talkies' mission to scout and promote fresh talent, giving them a platform to showcase their storytelling prowess. With high expectations for the contest, Zee Talkies is eager to receive thousands of entries from across Maharashtra, culminating in a celebration of creativity and cultural expression.
