National Award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta is the unofficial ambassador for Bengali cinema taking it to new heights with her inextinguishable energy.
The actress recently inspired director Aniruddha Roy Choudhury to make Anuranan the first Bengali movie to be shot abroad i.e. in London.
Rituparna justifies this by bringing to light thathere are a huge no. of Bengali families living in the UK and USA who want to see Bengali films on screen. The budget has
always been a constraint. Anuranan is a big step as far as the progress of Bengali cinema is concerned."
Cinematographer Sunil Patel of Salaam Namaste and Hum Tum fame has shot beautifully for the film which has its setting in London and Kanchenjunga (Nepal) leaving no
stone turned to make it look like a quality international project.
Both Rahul Bose and Rajat Kapoor both debut in Bengali films Anuranan. Says Rituparno, "The idea of casting such names from Bollywood is to give the film visibility. We
have dubbed the film in Hindi to cater to a non-Bengali audience."
