The number of flops in the last six months is proof of the dearth of good scripts in Bollywood. To counter the trend, film-maker Subhash Ghai has announced an open offer of
Rs 1 crore to a scriptwriter who can produce a complete, bound script that the Mukta Arts's selection committee feels fit to acquire on the first hearing.
"When we are perpetually on the lookout for good scripts, then why can't we pay Rs 1 crore for a brilliant script. More so, when we are going to spend Rs 25-50 crores to
produce the film," reasons Ghai.
Whistling Woods International Film and Television Institute, promoted by Mukta Arts, has also extended scholarships and special loans to promising applicants for the
screenwriting program.
