Naqaab's producers, Tips Films, had been keeping her under wraps as part of a strategy to promote (or not) the film. So far, she has been barred from giving interviews, though her pictures are being circulated in the publicity blitzkrieg.
But this is what she says about herself online.
"Nothing about me is fake, including my name. Urvashi Sharma is my real name and I am as real as you can get. I come from a middle-class Punjabi family in Delhi and have no filmi connections. My eldest sister Sucheta is a model too, who took care of me when I decided to shift to Mumbai. My first campaign was for Ponds, then came Garnier, followed by Kit Kat and Monte Carlo. Sophie is the character I play in Naqaab," says she.
She was a model, and already has a fair idea about camera angles and other technicalities but she thinks she needs to be prepared Bollywood. She had enrolled in Vidhur's Creating Characters Acting School and also kathak classes.
