Q: Tell us a little about the lead role in Sunjoy Wadhwa's new show.
A: I play a simple girl who wants to become a dancer but instead becomes a cop. She is not in any way different from normal girls.
Q: Then what sets this show apart?
A: I cannot divulge any more as things are just beginning to be finalized. The name of the show is not yet decided. But then, Sunjoy Wadhwa is known for making good shows, so you can definitely expect a lot.
Q: How did this role fall into your kitty?
A: I had auditioned for this show and then got selected. I have worked with Sunjoy before.
Q: Do you feel that your stint in Saathii Re gave a boost to your career?
A: Yes, it did. People appreciated me in the show and it definitely put me in the forefront.
Q: Which was your first serial on television?
A: I started off with 'Bhabhi' and then I did a show with Deepti Bhatnagar. Then came 'Saathii Re' and now the lead role in the new serial. A pretty good journey for me in this industry. I have been lucky for having bagged good roles one after another.
Q: What do you keep in mind while signing on a role?
A: I look at my character. I have done different roles in the past and want to continue the trend in the future.
Q: Was acting always on the cards for you?
A: I did my college from Delhi and like many others wanted to enter the glamour world. Thus, I came to Mumbai to get into the television industry and got my portfolio done. That's how I got started.
Q: What about your role in 'Virrudh'?
A: (Laughs) I really do not know how long it will last. I was told it is a cameo.
Q: Why have you quit the show 'Prithvi Raj Chauhan'?
A: (Laughs) You know, nothing was happening there. I was to play the lead when Prithvi Raj grows up, but since they had not made any decision regarding this, I left the show. I was not being able to commit elsewhere because of the delay. - Mili Swarnakar .
