Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah says he does not consider winning or getting nominated for Oscars to be the
benchmark of how good an actor or a film is.
"I don't give a damn to Oscars or to anyone who is nominated for it," he said during a news conference held at
the 9th Osian's-Cinefan film festival here Thursday.
"It seems like as if going to Oscars is like going to heaven! I think people who go to Hollywood only eye bigger
glory and big bucks."
The versatile actor also slammed the media for churning out reports of Hollywood actors and actresses
wanting to act in Bollywood movies and supported actor/director Rajat Kapoor's comment: "we are obsessed
with white skins".
"I have seen people saying 'Are you the Al Pacino of Bollywood?' It is our fault we call ourselves Bollywood, a
term which I fail to understand."
