Shooting of a song sequence starring actors John Abraham and Bipasha Basu was on Sunday interrupted for more than an hour due to ruckus created by members of two
film unions opposing the return to work of their expelled members.
Movie Action Dummy Effects Association and Movie Stunt Artists Association had expelled 49 members, who, armed with a MRTPC order, started work for Kumar Mangat's
'No Smoking' at the Film City in suburban Goregaon.
The Monopoly and Restricted Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) has allowed these 49 people to work even without membership of the two unions.
One of the expelled members, Ajay Diwedi, told that the workers who were on the sets were allegedly intimidated by the active members of the associations. He along with
the others has filed a police complaint against the members not allowing them to work.
"We have been jobless for four years and now that we have an opportunity to work, these people are stopping us," another member said. "The shoot is to continue tomorrow
but we are apprehensive that they will return at the sets despite the police complaint."
The active association members, however, were unavailable for comment on the issue.
