"That's true," concedes the softspoken Sajid."Sajid Khan will be making another film for me next year. Will it be more serious? You'll be surprised. But Hey Babby has an emotional core.
Next Sajid plans a film with a new director, who's been assistant on the banner's productions, Sabir Khan. And it won't an out-and-out escapist entertainer like the Nadiadwalas' other film. Sabir's film will star Akshay Kumar. And then a Salman starrer.
Sajid startles me by confessing he would've avoided shooting Hey Babby with a 8-month baby in Australia if he knew what hassles awaited him and his unit.
Narrating the harrowing time they had the enterprising producer says,"We had to select the baby just months before the shooting because it had to be eight months old. It was very risky.
What if we couldn't get the baby on time? Star dates would've been frittered away. In Australia we could only shoot fot twelve hours per week with the baby...that is one hour per day, and no more. We had lots of doctors and nurses on the sets, and 8-10 body doubles for the baby.
My director and actors needed to raise their patience level drastically. The baby would sleep when she had to shoot amd shoot when it was time for us to sleep."
Sajid is on a signing spree."I've decided to sign individual directors for one or two films. I've signed Siddharth Anand for a film that he'll be making after he finishes the film with Ranbir Kapoor for Yashraj Films.
The script is being worked on. I want to work with directors who've worked with reliable companies. If a Siddharth Anand who's worked with Yashraj wants to work with me I feel it's a big feather in my cap."
