Smita Thackeray Celebrates 26 Years of 'Haseena Maan Jaayegi' and Welcomes a New Generation to Indian Cinema!
In an industry driven by stories that entertain and inspire, some films become timeless, continuing to resonate with audiences for decades. Smita Thackeray, a respected producer in Indian cinema, marks a special milestone as her debut production Haseena Maan Jaayegi celebrates 26 years of spreading laughter and joy across generations.

Looking back, she says, “Creating laughter that lasts decades is the greatest reward a filmmaker can ask for. I feel blessed that Haseena Maan Jaayegi continues to bring joy, and now I am excited to see my sons carry forward our family’s creative legacy.” Even after all this time, the film’s ability to make people smile and laugh remains a source of deep happiness for Smita.

Comedy has always held a special place in her heart, both as a creator and as an audience member. Choosing Haseena Maan Jaayegi as her debut production was a natural choice. “Comedy is a tough genre, but with Govinda’s incredible energy and David Dhawan’s unique storytelling, the film was destined to succeed,” she recalls fondly. The film’s crazy, fun-loving spirit, combined with the passion and chemistry on set, ensured its place as a timeless classic.

Smita’s connection with Govinda goes beyond work — she regards him as family. Their warm friendship remains strong even today, sharing not just professional ties but personal bonds as well. Alongside her contribution to Hindi cinema, Smita has also made her mark in Marathi entertainment, producing several successful TV series by staying true to her core belief: content is everything.

Looking to the future, Smita’s younger son, Aaishwary Thackeray, is gearing up to make his acting debut in Anurag Kashyap’s film Nishaanchi. “Every mother dreams of her children succeeding on their own terms. It was destiny that Anurag Kashyap discovered Aaishwary’s talent and chose to guide him,” Smita shares proudly. Her elder son Rahul is also exploring his passion for cinema. Both sons have chosen a creative path over politics, driven by a deep love for art and storytelling — a legacy inspired by their grandfather, who was an artist himself.

With several new projects in films and web series on the horizon, Smita is excited to continue creating meaningful work. She humbly asks for the continued support and blessings of her fans as she and her family embark on new creative journeys.
