"I have been trying to resolve the problem. I have been supporting this place for a long time and I can't see the kids suffer like this for no fault of theirs. I am trying to figure out where to shift the children from here," the actress said from Khar.
The tussle between the orphanage and the landlady has been on for some time now. Apparently, the orphanage is operated from two flats in the same building. While one is owned by the orphanage, the other is a rented premise.
"A month ago a boy from the building misbehaved with one of our girls. We lodged a police complaint against that boy and this upset the landlady," elaborated Vijay Karande, who runs the orphanage. When the landlady threatened eviction, Karande even withdrew the case hoping that she wouldn't throw them out.
But Sameera is in no mood to keep quiet: "I am trying to pool in some more money to shift these girls to a good place nearby so that it doesn't affect the schooling of the children." With such spirit and determination, Sameera would surely be of great help to the orphan girls.
