Jasleen Royal and Raftaar Join Priyanka Khimani and Women of Music India for the Second Edition of Global Music Leaders Reception!
On August 21, 2025, Priyanka Khimani, one of the most influential legal voices in entertainment and founder of Women of Music India (WoMI), a not for profit foundation hosted the second edition of the Global Music Leaders Reception in Mumbai .The evening, powered by tech company, ‘Nothing’, brought together an exclusive group of executives, artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators from around the world who are shaping the future of music and culture.

Conceived by Khimani and WoMI, this evening was designed to spotlight India’s cultural power on the world stage while fostering dialogue between global decision-makers. What began in 2024 as a pioneering idea has already established itself as one of the most anticipated, invitation-only gatherings for music industry leaders in India and beyond.

“The Global Music Leaders Reception is about building bridges- between India and the world, between business and creativity, and around the future of music,” said Priyanka Khimani, also a leading advocate for artists’ rights. “India is no longer just participating in the global conversation but we are also helping shape it. Through Women of Music India, I want to ensure that women, especially, are at the forefront of that change. This evening is where those conversations begin, and where lasting partnerships are born.”

Set against the creative backdrop of Soho House Mumbai, the city’s leading hub for cultural and creative communities - Soho House was the natural community partner for this edition of Global Music Leaders. Since opening in Mumbai, the House has consistently created space for emerging artists and cultural voices to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Its ethos of community and collaboration mirrors our own, making it a natural home for conversations that spotlight women, celebrate talent, and connect India’s creative voices with the global stage.

Beyond conversation, the event also put music at the center with a curated artist showcase. Guests were treated to soulful, diverse performances by Mansa Jimmy, an exciting emerging voice in folk-fusion, and Mali, a celebrated singer-songwriter with a strong track record in indie and mainstream circuits. Along with performances by Twinkle Agarwal and Akanksha Sethi, the showcase highlighted both the depth and range of India’s musical talent—bridging new voices with artists already making cultural waves.

“The performances brought the night alive,” said one guest. “They were a reminder that beyond strategy and business, this is really about the artists who are creating culture.”

The gathering drew an eclectic mix of music leaders, tastemakers, and cultural icons. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jasleen Royal, a long-time supporter of WoMI, attended alongside celebrated rapper Raftaar; international singer-songwriter Natania Lalwani; and Andrew Gold, representing publishing powerhouse Roc Nation. Also in attendance were senior Indian executives from Universal Music and other leading labels, as well as independent artists and global executives. This evening created a space where real partnerships and new possibilities can emerge between India and the international music community.

Nothing joined the evening as a cultural partner. Born in London in 2020, the brand has quickly become one of the world’s most talked-about tech disruptors. Nothing was the perfect fit for the event, redefining technology with products that put design, creativity, and emotion back at the centre, echoing the spirit of innovation and artistry that the gathering celebrated.

The Global Music Leaders Reception continues to grow as a cultural touchpoint, combining strategic dialogue with artistic expression, and underscoring India’s central role in shaping the future of global creativity.
