It all started with a snake. The long slithery reptile was required for a comedy sequence featuring Anupam Kher, Satish Shah, Sammir Dattani and Shaad Randhawa.
Recalling the incident with a shudder, Sammir says, "What we didn't know at that time was that the snake sent to us for shooting was one of the most poisonous and deadly variety. We proceeded to shoot with it and all of us would've probably landed up dead immediately it wasn't for Satishji."
Satish Shah who is very keen clued in to wildlife rescued the Dhoom Dhaka team from sure -catastrophe.
"As soon as he saw the snake he realized it was very very dangerous. He immediately told us to get rid if it. It turned out to be one of the most deadly varieties of snake, known to kill instantly.
Anupamji and Satishji were actually holding the snake. If we hadn't recognized the reptile the results would've been disastrous," shudders Sammir.
How did such a lethal reptile makes its way to the shooting location in Bangkok?
Shrugs Anupam, "We've no clue. We had asked for a healthy scary-looking snake. We didn't know they'd send us a killer. It could've been touch-and-go for Satish and me. These things happen. There're so many occasions when we put our lives in danger without knowing it. Hota hai."
But the director Shashi Ranjan was shaken, arguing that it was his unit and therefore his responsibility.
The question being asked is, how was a deadly snake allowed on the set when a non-poisonous one was ordered?
