Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Saturday expressed confidence that he would get justice from the law of the country, and would be exempted from all charges.

Salman said the case had been going on for nine long years but the outcome would be fair since he had done no wrong.

"It's been going on for nine years. In some case, it is one and a half years, three and a half years and five and a half years. If you estimate then the term of sentence is long. But if god wishes, then this sentence will not happen.

I think that justice will take its own course. It will take time. But I will be out of it. I have my fans with me. Everyone must have come to know that I am not involved," he said.

Salman also thanked his friends, family members and fans for supporting him and standing by him during the difficult period.

"I am out of the jail and they (family members) are happy. They have prayed a lot. I have not done anything but my sisters will visit temples and keep fast," he said.

Salman was speaking to media persons outside his residence in Mumbai, after his release from the Jodhpur Central jail.

Rajasthan High Court freed Salman on bail on Friday almost a week after he was arrested and jailed in connection with the 1998 Chinkara poaching case.

The court ordered the actor to furnish a personal bond of 100,000 rupees.

Salman was taken into custody on August 25 after a Jodhpur court turned down his appeal against a lower court order. He was sentenced to a five-year term, which he is appealing at the Rajasthan High Court.

Khan is next due in court on October 24, his lawyer said.

Salman was convicted on April 10, 2006. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

The actor has been charged with poaching two Chinkaras at Ujiyala Bhakhar near Ghoda Farm.

Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan, Satish Shah, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari have been acquitted in the case.

Salman has also been sentenced to a year's imprisonment in another poaching case at Bhawad. He has appealed against this as well.

The case is pending before the Rajasthan High Court. The State Government has called for an enhancement of sentence.
