Make no mistake. Suniel Shetty is dead serious about serving as the brand ambassador for hockey.
After the team's triumphant victory at Chennai last week Suniel is all set to take the team even further up.
Suniel is now going to shoot an entire music video with the hockey team.
"And it won't be just a concept video. Every member of the hockey team will be given a prominent name and face. I want it to be the slickest sports video ever shot in the
country," promises Suniel.
The video will be directed by Suniel's protégée Yusuf Khan who directed the crime caper Khel for Suniel.
Says Yusuf, "I've already composed a 4.5 minute song for the video. Yes I'm a composer and had done all the music for Khel. The song for the hockey video is hooklined by
a chant that I want to catch on throughout the country like a fever.
The idea is to make the game and the players the actual stars of the video. For too long cricket
has been the star-game of our country. We'll start the video as though we're endorsing cricket and then bring hockey in."
Yusuf's video will naturally feature Suniel. "But not as a star. He'll blend into the story line. Mix with the players. Suniel is very people's person. I want to use that quality in
him in the video."
Suniel in the meanwhile is busy building a momentum for the game. "I'm talking to all my industrial contacts to support the game. This is where my influence among friends
in the business world comes in.
No point in having contacts unless they're useful for a larger good. After being part of the Biggest Loser which I'll return with in
January 2008, I wanted to reach the next level with my name, for whatever it may be worth.
Hockey is that platform which I needed.I'm brimming with ideas. We're
constantly in brain storming sessions with the Federation."
A new life for the game? "Shah Rukh started it in Chak De India. I'm just doing my bit."
About the video Suniel is super-charged. "I've done so many music videos. But this one is gonna be extra-special. Yusuf is the right person for it."
