Ashish Chaudhary may have been receiving appreciation for his role in 'Dhamaal', but no one knows better than
him the trials and tribulations his next role is putting him through. He plays a villager in the movie 'White Land'.
Here is a first hand account from the man himself.
"I play a boy, adopted by the zamindar after the death of my parents. I am treated badly after that. For my role,
I had to paint my body dark, since the workers in the salt fields are dark, and I would be wearing only a dhoti.
My make-up man used oil for the make-up, and that used to melt anyway because of the heat. My
dhoti would be stained everyday. I lost my cool quite often because of this.
Then my make-up man
got castor oil, which is thick, and that made things easier. That was when I began to enjoy my role. There are
quite a few fight sequences, on the salt pans, and my hands used to bleed whenever we shot any action. This
movie has my sweat and blood in it, literally."
Ashish's co-stars in the movie include Govind Namdeo, Seema Biswas, and Mukesh Rishi. Most of the movie
has been shot at Dandi and Kutch, Gujarat. The script revolves around salt field workers and their lives.
We hope Ashish's pains pay off!
