Prime Minister Manmohan Singh watched the grand finale of "Indian Idol 3" on TV with his family and thoroughly enjoyed the show in which Prashant Tamang was named the winner, say sources from the PM's office.

Prashant, who walked away with a Rs.10 million contract with Sony and a Maruti SX4 car, defeated his friend Amit Paul Sunday night at the grand finale which took place in the national capital at the Exhibition Ground, Okhla.

Before the grand finale, the two contestants met Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and sought their blessings.
