Indian director Karan Johar says that he hates growing older.

"I'm growing old. I am 35 years old and I dye my hair to hide the whites,'' he told the Times of India newspaper in an interview published Sunday.

"There was a time when I was dying to be 21 and now I hate being 35,'' the director added. "I would have been happy if I remained between 21 and 29.''

Apart from directing films, Johar also hosts a popular television talk show called "Koffee with Karan,'' which has drawn Bollywood's big names such as Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta.

He said that cinema was his first love, and that he is going to dedicate all his time to his next film.

"For me, hosting a show or an award function is a hobby. But all of this will take a back seat now.''
