"Our team members carried plastic bags and dustbins wherever we went, so that we did not litter. I wish people in India followed the same rules to keep the cities clean, " says Arunima.
The country is not vegetarian-friendly, however, and she thinks Indians will have a difficult time with the food there. Even though she is a non-vegetarian, she could not eat the meat available there. She adds, "I am actually more of a fish-eater, and that was not available there, so I ate very little of the other things. "
To make up for the variety in cuisine, Turkey offers some great bargains for shopaholics. Arunima shopped a lot, but she particularly fancied the brand, Y-London. She frequented the roadside shops, too.
Unfortunately, she did not have much time for sightseeing, but she spent some time at the Blue Mosque, where her team was shooting. "I could not spend much time at the Blue Mosque, but I was completely bowled over by its beauty, " she recalls.
Arunima has fond memories of the country, and suggests that one should go there to enjoy the tranquility. Up next on her wish list is the rest of Europe, and, closer home, Kerala. Looks like she has been bitten by the wanderlust bug. - Anju Gupta
