Ekta Kapoor always begins all her serials with aplomb, and a lot of noise. Most of them seem promising in the initial
episodes. Somewhere down the line, the plot takes a different route, and we are lost.
Kapoor's most
successful serial, 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', took four generation leaps, the last one last year. Every leap has
left some issue or the other unsolved. Here are some of them:
Lakshya was in love with Krishnatulsi. Things changed when Mayank raped her. Eklavya, always in love with her,
finally married her. Lakshya married Laxmi.
His
mother Trupti tortured her bahu so much that she ran away. Will Laxmi ever come back? Will Lakshya ever realize
what a villain his mother is?
Eklavya still suspects the relationship between his wife and Lakshya. He taunts bothof them. Where is he these days?
Of course, Mayank, who was in the mental asylum after raping Krishnatulsi, seems to have vanished from public
memory.
Abir was in love with Bhoomi. He then became possessive about his wife Archita, missing from the show for the past
two weeks. Billi Thakural, Archita's obsessive lover, has disappeared after his father Jay's arrest. Joydeep's makeover
was much awaited.
However, Bhoomi and Joydeep hardly have any
scenes together.Manthan bonded well with Bhoomi and tried to kill Nandini. He has disappeared. We are trying to
figure out why there were all these generation leaps, when the story now focuses on older characters – Karan, Nandini,
Sahil and Ganga.
A case of coming full circle?
