Bollywood is abuzz with rumors that director Prakash Mehra has approached Amitabh Bachchan to play the leading role in his next film, a sequel to his 70s' hit "Zanjeer."

In the new film, Mehra may repeat the "Zanjeer cast" – Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan – in the leading roles. Moreover, he is also rumored to have penned a special role for Abhishek Bachchan to play their son in the film.

In the past Amitabh and Prakash Mehra jodi has given Bollywood big hits like "Namak Halal" and "Sharaabi".
