The case was adjourned to January 3, 2008 by the Second Additional District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Babulal to record the statement of the photographer, who was cited as a witness by the complainant.
Hindu Munnani activist Gurumurthy had filed the private complaint on November 28 before the court against the actress, alleging that she had disrespected Hindu Goddesses by sitting with her slippers in front of the idols at a film muhurat at Chennai on November 22.
The photograph was published in 'Nakeeran' weekly, according to the complainant.
Two more complaints have been filed in different centres after this petition was filed.
Gurumurthy wanted the court to take action against her under various sections of the IPC for "hurting religious sentiments".
The court recorded the statements of the complainant and other witnesses today.
