Sid Makkar who is playing the boisterous and outspoken Shankar in the increasingly popular soap ‘Mere Apne' on Sahara One became pally with the veteran actor Vinod Khanna not over a cup of cutting chai but over a hilarious joke.

The two not only share the same frame on TV but are also neighbors as they both are townies and stay a few blocks away from each other's buildings.

"Initially I was very formal with Mr. Khanna as he is a senior actor and holds a very commanding position in the industry.

The ice broke when one fine day he showed me a funny message on his cell and since then we share a very informal relation. We have started talking a lot more now," beams an excited Sid.

Well, the going seems to have gotten good for the actor after joining the high TRP show ‘Mere Apne' in more ways than one!
