Almost all and sundry are getting inspired and emotional about Aamir Khan's well received ‘Taare Zameen Par.' Now it's the turn of small time TV actor Karan Mehra who plays Vedant in Smrti Irani's ‘Virrudh.'
The actor is playing a geek in ‘Daddy Kool',an English commercial play produced by Tanaaz Lal and starring Bakhtiyaar, Sandeep Sickand, Kishwar Merchant etc.
Says Karan, "I play the role of a geek who later twirls cool. It was difficult for me to read and understand the script the first time it was handed over to me as I am a little dyslexic, in fact like my character.
My
character Buddy did reflect immediately. Tanaaz wanted to kick me out the first day itself, but I insisted and pleaded her to give me one day's time.
I got a copy of the script and mugged up my dialogues. She
was pleased with the performance the following day."
"It was a complete different experience all together and I had a whale of a time working with the entire team of Daddy Kool which was like a big-bond family", adds the actor.
Well, after not getting much attention with ‘Virrudh', is it all about cashing in on the ‘Taare Zameen Par' magic like so many others, eh Karan?
