Opting out of the rat race and all its compulsions has been a conscious decision for Pooja Bhatt. As an actress-producer she has chalked out a distinct place for herself. She says she has never had to work for money. It helps to have a famous father after all!
She said once, "I have had the option to pick and choose. I could play characters and afford not to get typecast." Her repertoire has certainly been different - Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin, Sadak, Daddy, Sir and the National Award-winning Zakhm. It is as a producer (Fish Eye Productions) now that she`s come into reckoning again. Two of her films Sur (which is being co-produced by Pritish Nandy Productions; she is the online producer) and Jism with John Abraham are in the pipeline.
The actress is, of course, quite alive. Audiences will see her in again as a small-town girl married to rich city guy in Rahul Bose`s Everyone Says I`m Fine. Ask her of her preferences and she`ll say that Rahul, a good friend, bullied her into playing the role. Plus, the movie is in English, which she`s more comfortable with. "I think in English," she says. Needless to say, the character is anything but plastic!
