In Mumbai and Kolkata, the performances are scheduled for Jan 20 and Jan 25 respectively. The 10-day concert tour will conclude in Delhi Jan 27.
A trained piano player, the versatile actor Saif, whose musical repertoire includes the soul of rock - lead guitar, said: "From Led Zepplin to Parikrama, rock music has always been my passion and I look forward to sharing that passion with my fans across the country, hopefully blowing their minds with some classics!"
"The last 10 days of the concert are going to be extremely exciting. Performing live on stage is so unlike being a movie star. There are no retakes and you have to get it right the first time. It is a challenge and I look forward to it," he said in the press statement.
However, this is not the first time he is doling out musical treat for fans. In 2006, Saif and Parikrama had left crowd enthralled and asking for more.
Excited to share the stage once again with Saif, Subir Malik, spokesperson for Parikrama said, "Saif is committed to music and despite a busy schedule pursues it with passion. It will be great to get back on stage with him. Of all our original tracks, Saif has chosen 'Rhythm and Blues' and we are looking forward to jamming with him."
"It is great to be back in India. To perform for the Indian fans who are always a delightful audience, and to share stage with Saif Ali Khan and Parikrama will be a great experience," said Faisal Kapadia, a member of Strings.
Seagram's Royal Stag Mega Music, whose brand is being endorsed by Saif, is the title sponsor of the event.
Commenting on the initiative, Bikram Basu, vice-president (marketing), Pernod Ricard India owner of the liquor label Royal Stag said: "Seagram's Royal Stag mega music believes in building unique experiences."
"Saif, Parikrama and Strings should be a delight as a marketer, viewer and music lover. We are not experimenting here because we know it's a winner," he added.
Tickets for the concert are priced between Rs.450-600.
