"I woke up in Chandigarh last week wondering where I was. I'm now in Delhi with my mother. And I'm trying to gather myself together.
We rushed from the location in Toronto straight to the airport because we had dates for Preity only until 24 December. We arrived at Delhi at 3 am and caught a train to Chandigarh. Then started the rehearsals.
My God, I didn't know where I was! But you know what? I love this excessive excitement. Every film is a pleasant challenge."
Now Deepa starts editing Heaven on Earth and moves to her next project a comedy Stella from February 20, 2008.
"Actually my brother Dilip is directing Stella. I'm helping him out. Then I move on to my next project Luna with John Abraham, Rachel Weisz and Dustin Hoffman.
In Stella I'll work again with one of my favourite actresses Seema Biswas. She's amazingly funny if she wants to be. We're shooting Stella in Delhi. It'll be a bi-lingual in Hindi and English. Then I move to San Francisco for Luna."
Deepa has to leave for pre-production of Luna in February. "After Luna I've another Hollywood project entitled Land Of The Morning Calm. That's 'Korea' in Korean." She's become as proilific as David Dhawan, I joke.
"Ha ha I love David Dhawan. It's so strange that I should be working so much. But everything happens at a certain time. In 2007 I took time off because my Dad passed away and I needed to be with mom.
The loss of a parent is something one can never get over. I immediately got into Heaven On Earth. I had such a good time shooting it. Though it's on a serious theme I had a blast doing it."
Deepa who has wrapped up her work with Preity Zinta is all praise for the actress. "Everyone on the sets just loved her. She's a real trouper ...warm alive and courageous. And she has amazing talent."
For now Deepa is happy to spend some precious time together. "We play Rummy all day long. That's the Punjabi side of me."
