Bollywood starlet Huma Khan, who has been charged with allegedly torturing her maid's 12-year-old daughter, has
suffered a nervous breakdown and was currently undergoing psychiatric treatment.
According to the police, the soon after her arrest last week, the actor informed tham that she was on medication and
also suffered from insomnia. Accordingly, following her arrest, the Mira Road police referred to the state-run JJ Hospital
in Byculla for Khan's assessment and treatment.
The police said that after they arrested Khan on charges of kidnapping and assault, they found that the actor has been
taking certain injections frequently and the constant pricking of needles has resulted in an infection on her
body.
These injections are used for treating weakening bones (osteoporosis) in post-menopausal women and
men who are at high risk for having fractures or have had fractures.
According to the police, Khan has been seeking psychiatric treatment for several years now. Since she wanted to
make a comeback in Bollywood, she was also starving herself to get back into good shape.
