Now the showman is back to direction with "Black & White" after his sojourn of four years. And in this film, he is introducing his new surprise Anurag Sinha. Here we have a small interview with the budding hero, Anurag Sinha.
Q.: Please tell us about your character in "Black & White".
A.: I am playing the character of a Muslim extremist. His name is Umar Kazi. He enters the house of Rajan Mathur, an Urdu teacher, for spreading terrorism in Delhi. Anil Kapoor is playing that character.
Rajan is an established character in the locality and his family is also much known. Umar
comes to his house only because it's the best hideout for him as no one around would have doubt on that house. But after meeting Rajan, Umar starts feeling some changes in his character. He asks himself about his own identity.
Q.: How is the experience of working with the veteran actor, Anil Kapoor?
A.: I am junior to him considering everything, starting from his age to experience and even knowledge. But he has been very friendly to me on the sets. He never let me realize his seniority. Actually he is not only a good actor, but a good human being also.
Q.: This is your first film and the director is Subhash Ghai. Have you ever felt any mental pressure on the sets?
A.: Look, Subhashji is the most experienced director in this industry. He has the experience of making excellent movies from a long time now.
But there was no point of time when I had to feel pressurized. He helped me a lot. But there are very few people who know about Subhashji being a good actor. Sometimes he used to teach us something new, acting-wise.
I think if someone has to be perfect on some subject there has to be some pressure on him. Pressure makes things better and I know how to handle pressure.
Q.: Where are you from and how did you manage this film?
A.: Basically I am from Patna. Before entering Mumbai I spent two years learning acting in "Film and Television Institute of India".
I was performing in "Talghar", a play, while Subhashji noticed me. He then told me to meet him later. I was really very busy during that time. So, I couldn't meet him.
After two months I got a call from Mukta Arts and I was told that Subhashji wanted to meet me. I met him and he offered me the film.
Q.: You have started your career with Mukta Arts. You must now have bigger expectations from the industry.
A.: Every human being has his kind of dreams.
Pursuing the dream is completely up to that person. And here I am trying with my dreams in my way only. I have a dream to establish myself as an excellent actor in this industry.
Q.: Is that your childhood dream?
A.: Not at all. I wanted to be a hero. But once grown up, I came to know that to be a hero I have to be a good actor first. And to be an actor, I have to know acting very well.
Q.: You already have got an impressive number of female fans. How do you feel?
A.: (Smiling) What should I say about them? I see neither any profit nor any loss in that. It's good for me that some people like me.
Q.: Have you signed any other film?
A.: Not yet. But if you allow me some time then I would like to sign a few films also. - Rajnee Gupta
