Post his retirement from the ramp business, the model actor is busy with his production house. Not only is he busy with the putting together of one of India's premier TV reality show on filmmaking- Gateway- but also making blink and miss appearances in Bollywood films. The actor's latest film "Bhram" is about to release.
TWF correspondent Sneh Irani caught up with the model-actor in a candid mood to speak more about his life and work.
Could you tell us more about your film Bhram?
Well, it's one of the suspense films that I think should attract the audiences. I cannot speak much about it at the moment, but all I can say is that I really loved playing my character in the film.
What's the reason for your lying low when it comes to making appearances in films?
For me to do a film means that I should feel deeply for the theme of the film. I'm always keen on doing roles that appeal to me. In that sense I have become choosy about the roles I do. In fact I have always tried to play different portrayals in all my films.
You are also co-producing the first ever reality show on filmmaking. Could you tell us more about that?
Gateway is a reality show which will conduct an intensive nationwide search for India's promising new director. The big deal is that the winner will get a chance to direct a Hollywood film produced by Ashok Amritraj's company Hyde Park Entertainment. We feel elated to be part of this history making show on the Indian screens.
What kind of role do you play in the co-production of the show?
Well, we are a core team of four members who are involved with the production of the show. Gateway is produced by Sony Pix in association with my company. My involvement in the show is to handle the back-end, the business of the show. Overall, it's all of us who finally make the creative decisions related to the show.
What's the scene with the modeling front? Would you comeback to ramp again?
I don't think Ramp is something which I would do again the way I used to. But, modeling, yes, I do endorse select brands still.
And what about directing a film? Would we ever see you doing that?
Well, to tell you the truth, I haven't really given it a serious thought. And its difficult to say with surety what happens in future. At the moment I'm enjoying my production and acting assignments, let's see what's coming next.
