The gorgeous Gracy Singh who took a giant leap from television to movies has been a lost name after successful films like Lagaan and MunnaBhai MBBS. The actress is now back into contention with her very sensuous portrayal in Aseema.

Here is Gracy Singh talking about her career and her upcoming film..

Q. Tell me something about Aseema.
A. It is based on an Oriya novel and is based on a woman's life, her journey, her struggle and how she fights to have her own identity in the society and the manner in which she wins over all obstacles and believes in living her life with honor and dignity.

Q. How was it working with Sisir Mishra?
A. He is an amazing director, absolutely brilliant. He knows how to bring out the work from an actor. He is very strict in his work and yet very jovial and fun loving person, people enjoy working with him. He is himself very hyperactive and is always charged up.

Q. How was it working with Aseem Merchant?
A. It was nice working with him; he is very dedicated and hard working.

Q. How was the environment on the sets of Aseema?
A. Environment was very positive around me, very spiritual. We visited lot of temples like Puri Jagannath and every day before shooting we used to pray. It was very nice.

Q. Is it an off beat film?
A. It is very much a commercial film; but it has a touch of both realistic cinema and commercial. It is a serious film though.

Q. How do you select your films?
A. I choose it by the story, the director, and the team.

Q. After working in films like Lagaan & Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., you are not seen in any big banner films or for that matter any other film, why?
A. I always wanted to do good films that leave a mark and in films that can be remembered, so I am happy with my career.

Q. Did you always want to be in acting?
A. I enjoy acting, it is like a hobby to me but I was more into dance and wanted a dance institute of my own. While doing T.V. serials, I discovered that I could act as well. I had never dreamt of being an actor.

Q. How was the journey from television to films?
A. It was very hard to come out from the serial which I did in Zee T.V. called Aamanat. I was so emotionally attached to the serial that it became a family to me. After that I gave my audition for Lagaan and from then, it has been a good and satisfying journey for me.

Q. How did Aamir react when you went for the audition of Lagaan? Were you nervous when you went for the audition of Lagaan?
A. Aamir was not there for the first few rounds and then he came for the final round. I was nervous during the audition, but not in front of the camera after getting the role. - Sabir Rehman
