According to her, she wanted to leave the show in December last year, but stayed on because the producer requested her to do so till they found a suitable replacement. And now, Sonia Kapoor plays the title role.
"The only reason I took up 'Zaara' was that I wanted to try out a different medium," says Samiksha, who has starred in a number of films down South.
She does not think that this stint with television will harm her film prospects. "Sahara One is not really a happening channel, and 'Zaara', being a Muslim social, had limited viewership," she says.
She adds that she is not interested in television at present, but will consider participating in a reality show.
Samiksha will be seen opposite Chandrachur Singh in an untitled Hindi movie next. "It is his (Chandrachur's) comeback vehicle.
The film deals with a Rajasthani royal family, and has horror and sorcery in the backdrop," she says, adding, "I play a family girl in this movie, which also stars Sushmita Mukherjee as the main vamp."
Wearing short clothes and running around trees is not a problem for her. "I am quite like that in real life, and wearing sarees for 'Zaara' was quite difficult," she laughs.
