Director Shashilal Nair has found a diplomatic way to resolve the badi si controversy about his film Ek Choti Si Love Story. The film made news when actress Manisha expressed displeasure over his shooting semi-pornographic scenes that seemingly suggested her, though shot with a body double.

The perturbed director says, `When I make a film no one can dictate terms to me whether I should delete or add a scene.`Nevertheless he adds, `But Manisha is a dear friend and I do not wish to hurt her. Instead I will replace her and re-shoot the film. Afterall it is just a matter of 15-16 days, since the film was shot within that duration.`The film has given rise to a controversy about the use of body doubles when Hindi films are becoming more and more explicit. Earlier Nandita Das in Fire and Seema Biswas in Bandit Queen had used body doubles for scenes considered necessary for the film.

Manisha reportedly is confident that no actress is easily going to agree to do the role. She had signed a contract with Nair which specified that the scenes would not be used without her permission.
