Zeenat Aman became a national heartthrob decades ago. Aishwarya Rai is one of the biggest stars around while Sushmita Sen, although not commercially successful to that extent, has established herself as an actress with a difference. Lisa Ray has made a late debut, Priyanka Chopra is knocking at the doors, so is Yukhta Mookhey. So is it surprising that former Miss Universe Lara Dutta is all ready to make her debut in Bollywood?

Not really. In fact, Lara should have signed up her first Hindi film long ago considering the kind of attention she received after winning the Miss Universe title. After a fairly long wait, she has signed up her first film titled Andaz in which she stars opposite Akshay Kumar. Why Akshay? We think that is since the film is being produced by Suneel Darshan in whose camp Akshay has been a favourite for a quite sometime now. The film will be directed by Raj Kanwar, who would like to forget the disaster titled Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, which he made not so long ago.

What role will Lara play? We hear she is going to play the character of a modern girl, which is most understandable. For, those who have seen Lara know that she is a girl who carries herself most remarkably, and she is known to be a person who talks well and intelligently. (The Miss Universe title could not have gone to her without reason isn`t it?) Both the director and the producer are keeping the details about the movie under wraps, which is not surprising because they might easily end up introducing a potentially big star on the screen. At the moment though, every body is keeping their fingers crossed, which includes Lara who we hear might be making a debut in Hollywood as well!
