The simmering hostility between the two suddenly came out in the open last week when news was leaked out to the Bihar press that the stamp that was issued in the Netherlands in honour of Manoj Tiwari was a hoax.
Tiwari is distraught. "I haven't slept for four days. I feel like breaking down. I feel I'm I'm under threat. I know for a fact that Ravi Kissan has spread these baseless stories. How can professional jealousy be taken to this extent?" says Tiwari emotionally.
"He thinks he's a superstar. Last week he declared in full view of the media, 'Mera Manoj ke saath tension hai. Main usski zindagi le loonga, mooch ukhaad doonga'....
This, with fifty tv cameras recording his statement! What wrong have I done? Then suddenly this letter was sent to all the press in Bihar saying that the stamp issued by the Dutch government was fake.
Nothing could be more humiliating for a man who has struggled honestly to get where he is today."
Manoj throws an open gauntlet at his rival. "Let Ravi prove the stamp is a fake and I'll leave the industry. He's been personally calling newspaper offices to tell them about how fake the stamp is.
In fact the Dutch government had posted the letter announcing the issuing of my stamp on an envelope with my stamp on it."
Manoj feels his life is under threat. "Yes, I feel threatened. On 8 May my car was attacked in Biharsharif. Then two days later in Biharsharif at a live performance stone were pelted and a stampede was caused.
I was supposed to have made anti-Laloo statements and sung vulgar songs at this event. Even leading ladies who are working with both of us are being threatened.
A Bengali actress Mona Lisa who was shooting with Ravi came to perform in my show on a day off. She was ticked off good and proper."
