Try having a one-on-one with Vivek Oberoi and one would know what a prim and propah boy he is - articulate, courteous and mannerly. But the actor seems to be deliberately underplaying his celebrity status.
Going slow after the stupendous success of his first film Company, is perhaps a conscious one. Clearly he is bit "too wary" of his success and wants to play it down. Not wanting to repeat what happened with Kumar Gaurav and more recently Hrithik Roshan, both of who had sensational debuts.
But must he go to such lengths as to completely wipe out his contribution to a film? In his forthcoming film, Road, he shares the honors with another Ramu favorite Manoj Bajpai. "Just wait and watch. Manoj is simply brilliant. I`ve underplayed my character so that his role could be built up," he says. It`s good to be good, Vivek! But certainly not to this extent.
