Manav Gohil, the well known face of Kahani Teri Meri and not to forget Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, will soon be making his debut in films with Dharmesh Darshan's Bhanvraa. Let's peak into the heart of this excited and confident actor to know little about his character and few more things...
Q. How are you feeling about your debut in tinsel town?
A. It is a big offer which not a lot of people can get and at the same time it's not just a film for me but a film with Dharmesh Darshan. The scale of the film is very big which you will come to know once the promos are out. It's a real big canvas for me.
Q. Are you nervous or excited?
A. More than nervous I am excited because it is an opportunity that one does not get again and again in life. We have worked hard to make a good film, so, I think the film will do well.
Q. Brief us something about the story-line of the film...
A. The film is a romantic thriller. Of course there are characters in it but more than that there are emotions which have been played beautifully.
It's a layered film with friendship, emotions, love, betrayal, ambition etc. These things are redefined and they all maturely culminate at the climax in an interesting way. That's what the film is all about.
Q. Tell us something about your character...
A. My character's name is Aman. He is a normal, rich and a nice guy.
Q. Which is the most important thing that attracted you the most to work in it?
A. Undoubtedly Dharmesh Darshan. I didn't have to think much before signing the film only because of him. Dharmesh came to me and said that it's a role of a hero and offered me the film and I accepted it. There was no analysis done.
Q. How did the film happen to you?
A. Few days back Dharmesh Darshan called me and we sat together discussing the film but there was no narration of the story.
After few months also he was in dilemma about whether to take film stars or television stars or new comers. Then after four more months I got a call from him confirming the character for me.
Q. What difference have you felt working in television and films?
A. I would say the scale is very different and they are also different in the way they are treated. The canvas is big in films. We don't shoot ten scenes a day, work on costumes etc are done, so there is lot of detailing done in films.
Q. Do you think coming from films to television is degradation in ones career?
A. No, obviously not. If you see in Hollywood, people jump over benches and go for both television and film. TV's reach is much more than films. Films are bigger in size but TV is much wider in reach. Both TV and film industry are financially very strong.
Q. As far as number of programmes is concerned, there is deluge in the television industry but all of them look the very same. Do you think that creativity has taken a backseat?
A. It's not happening only now but since past few years. Yes, it has become more of a factory. The work on creative level is not happening much because whatever sells is being shown. I do agree that commercial aspect has taken over creativity.
Q. Your other future projects...
A. Nothing right now as for the time being I am concentrating only in this project. Once the promos start and film gets released, I will be looking out for other works. I wish to do good films and hope that people who know me, seen me and have liked me wish good for me from their hearts. -Sabir Rahman
