Director Anubhav Sinha has been trying to meet Sansar Chand, the notorious wildlife poacher arrested in 2oo5 and who's who's now in Ajmer Jail.
Says Anubhav, "I've to meet Sansar Chand to understand the mind of a poacher, his relationship with wild animals specially tigers.
My next film entitled Kajri which I'm writing and producing is about the
relationship between a forest officer and a man-eating tigress with whom he develops an enduring bonding."
The relationship between a tiger and a forest officer is not what would be called ideal material for a film.
But that's exactly what Anubhav Sinha has decided to film. "It's not as if I'm trying to be eco-friendly or making a film that would get me the approval of the green revolutionaries.
It's an idea I've been fascinated
with for a long time. And I'm not making a film like Haathi Mere Saathi or Jaanwar Aur Insan.
Kajri will explore the whole complex relationship between Man and Nature. But to understand the relationship I
need to get into the mind of people who have explored the life in the jungle first-hand."
This where Sansar Chand comes in.
"My film will have a character based on him. But I first need to meet him. I've been trying to do so for some time now. But so far in vain."
