The Bombay High Court rejected a petition filed by Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala objecting to some scenes in the film `Ek Chhoti Si Love Story`. Justice F I Rebello who gave the order also allowed the film to be released. Koirala had filed a petition against the producer of the film, Shashilal Nair, on the plea that he had used a duplicate in alleged `obscene` shots thereby portraying her in bad light. This amounts to violating her right to privacy and defaming her in public, she had stated. Nair had offered to credit the alleged objectionable scenes to the duplicate. However, Koirala insisted on deleting the `objectionable` scenes. The actress also challenged the final version of the film on the ground that the producer had committed a breach of contract.
Producer Shashilal Nair said he was happy with the Mumbai High Court verdict rejecting the plea of Manisha Koirala saying it was a neat, clean and sensitive film and no nudity was involved. Nair also said that Manisha had lied to the court and that it was her habit to pick up brawls. He said that perhaps she was trying to get back into news after a string of flops.
Jessica, the actress who plays Manisha Koirala's body-double in filmmaker Shashilal Nair's Ek Chhoti Si Love Story has added a new twist to the controversy. She said on Friday that she was misled by the filmmaker about the amount of exposure that she was required to do in the film. ‘‘Before I signed the film, I was shown sketches of scenes that I had to perform with my co-star Ranvir. Both of us were to behave like a husband and wife. But during the shoot, I was asked to expose more than what was initially told to me,'' the 18-year-old actress who's also a part-time model said.
