First problem cropped up with Pritish Nandy threatening to stall its release if its director, Mani Shankar, does not return him the signing amount he had taken to make a film for him. But that matter got resolved when Mani returned the money back to Nandy.
Later on a release date of 11th July was announced for the film and even a premiere of the film took place on 9th of July in Delhi.
But the release date of 11th July had to be cancelled at the last moment when the multiplexes, belonging especially to the PVR and Adlabs group were unwilling to accommodate the film as their produced Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (PVR) and Love Story 2050 (Adlabs) were given the best shows.
The makers were left with no choice but postpone their film further. The new date then announced was August 1st.
But trade sources have confirmed the news to us that Mukhbiir will not hit the screens on August 1st.
The reason for yet another postponement is the dispute over money matters between the producer of the film, Sudhish Rambhotla and the director, Mani Shankar. Mani had dragged Rambhotla to court over this money matter.
But now this matter was amicably resolved between the two on Friday, 25th July. With this Pyramid Saimira, who are the all-India distributor of Mukhbiir have finally heaved a sigh of relief.
The new release date being announced is 29th August. Its lead star, Sameer Dattani must definately now be praying to his gods that Mukhbiir finally makes it in the cinema halls on the 29th of August.
