Reacting to reports about Wizcraft severing relations with them and cancelling the Vancouver show later in August, Ethnic Guru called these reports just rumours put out by 'competing promoters and other interests'.
``We continue to work with Wizcraft on a number of other projects and the relationship between our two companies remains solid, '' Ethnic Guru told in a written statement.
``It's obvious that many of the competing promoters and their affiliated media outlets in Canada have been annoyed by the fact that a high profile concert of this stature did not come through their efforts. It is no secret that every effort has been made by them to discredit the Tour and its promoters at all levels, '' the statement said.
Denying that the Vancouver show was cancelled due to poor sale of tickets, the Toronto-based promoters said: ``Contrary to articles placed in the press by competing promoters and other interests, Vancouver was not cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
``In fact there had been an amazing response to The Unforgettable Tour from Vancouver fans (as had been in all cities). The cancellation of the concert was a mutual decision between the Global Promoter and us, based upon a number of logistic reasons.''
The statement said, ``It has recently been stated publicly by representatives of Wizcraft, the organizers of the tour, that they had not been too keen to do a Vancouver show and hence the cancellation right after the Toronto concert.''
The Ethnic Guru statement added that ``money from ticket sales in Vancouver has always been held by Ticketmaster (online sellers of entertainment tickets in Canada) and all ticket buyers are being urged to receive their refunds from them directly.''
