"But before that, on July 20 it premieres at the Stuttgard Film Festival. My main lead Naseeruddin Shah saw Shoot On Sight. He loved it. He's amazingly good. And Om Puri who plays a rdical mullah is chilling, "says Mundhra.
Between Bharat and Britain Jagmohan Mundhra is the busiest director going.
He has just started shooting with Govinda in London.
"We've named the comedy Excuse Me, Please after Mr Bachchan's mythic utterance in the song from Amar Akbar Anthony. Govinda is a delight to work with.
Actually he got me into this project. Govinda told the producers he wanted me to direct. He plays a 40-year old virgin. And Ayesha Takiya plays his romantic lead. Actually they both play virgins, " laughs Jag.
From making erotic films strictly about non-virgins to a film about virgins...this director sure has come a long way.
"But hang on. After serious films like Provoked and Shoot On Sight a romantic comedy Excuse Me, Please I'm making a slick noire film. It will be shot entirely in the monsoon rains. I want someone with the smouldering sensuality of Mallika Sherawat or Lara Dutta for this film."
But before that there a thriller called Room Mates which would probably star Amrita Rao and Gul Panag.
And finally to the Sonia Gandhi project.
Explains Jagmohan Mundhra, "I'm afraid a lot of inaccuracies and fabrications have crept into the reports in India about my Sonia project. Yes I did meet her. But she has not given the nod to the project. Nor has she said no.
She was gracious but non-commital. And extremely genteel. She wanted to know if bio-pics were made about living people. I pointed out several films on Nelson Mandela.
I told her I didn't want to make a film about Sonia the politician but about two individuals from disparate backgrounds who fall in love and make a life together."
Mundhra narrated several anecdotes on Sonia Gandhi's early years with Rajiv that he had collected in the course of his research.
"I told her things she thought no one knew. When she came to Italy she went to a school of languages in Cambridge to learn English.
I also told her about the bakery in London where Rajiv used clean the chimney in the night, about that bird in a nest in his room in London for which he wouldn't close the window in the night for the bird to return home and Soniaji's fondness for the icecreams that Rajivji took her to have at India Gate."
Sonia Gandhi seemed convinced by Mundhra's sincerity.
"But I repeat, she has neither said yes nor no, " concludes the director. "I've been asked to hold on till 2009's general elections."
