At the recently concluded Osian Cine-Fan Film Festival held in the capital, celebrity-journalist turned pcoming Bollywood actor Anant Narayan was mobbed by a crowd of enthusiastic fans, who mistook Anant for the current heartthrob of the nation ˆ Ranbir Kapoor, leaving Anant completely bemused and stunned at the rather bizarre turn of events.

Anant had made a brief appearance at the festival to attend the special screening of Joymoti ˆ the first Assamese film.

One of Anant's closest friends happens to be the great grandson of the illustrious Assamese film legend Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, also the maker of Joymoti. It was but of course, a special day for Anant's friend and he wanted to be there for him despite being advised not to attend the film festival given the exhaustive media cover present at the festival.

Though throughout the screening, Anant managed to stay away from the media glare, just as he was about the exit the festival a crowd of enthusiastic fans came raging towards him calling out 'Ranbir' 'Ranbir' 'Look Ranbir Kapoor is here'.

"At first when I saw and heard a group of fans walking towards me shouting things like "Ranbir Kapoor's here", I though Ranbir had actually come down from Mumbai to attend the festival.

Thus I turned around looking for him but found no one instead. It's only when a girl walked up to me and asked me for Ranbir's autograph that I realized what was going on.

I immediately explained to everyone present that I was not Ranbir Kapoor and that I was Anant, a film journalist who is going to join Hindi movies soon. But the crowd was just not convinced, " recalls an overwhelmed Anant.

Onlookers were stunned at the rather uncanny facial resemblance Anant shared with Ranbir.

"Some thought I looked like a younger version of Ranbir. I did take it as a huge compliment because I honestly think he's great looker, and as far as they are comparing me with someone as good looking as Ranbir, I have absolutely no problems.

Unlike other newcomers, I don't mind being called a Ranbir Kapoor look-alike though I very honestly feel we both don't resemble each other at all. We're characteristically different looking people. Maybe our body structure is similar but that's where our resemblance ends.

But I'm not complaining! No doubt, it's immensely flattering to be compared to someone who is one of the hottest cinematic icons of recent times" says Anant.
