PVR Pictures has filed a petition in the Mumbai High Court against filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi restraining him to work on any new film. The reason behind all this industry sources claim are as follows -
PVR Pictures which has produced superhits like Tare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na had entered into a contract with Santoshi for two films and he was not supposed to take up any new work till the principal
photography of these two films he had signed with them was completed.
But, Santoshi defying the contract has begun shooting Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor starrer romantic comedy, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab
Kahani."
What had also enraged PVR is that Santoshi wasted time in starting their two projects. One was a historical based on emperor Ashoka starring Ajay Devgan while another, a romantic comedy titled Backstreet Boyz.
But no progress was taking place from Santoshi's side about these projects. Instead, Santoshi started a completely new project, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani for Tips.
PVR in their petition has also
alleged that Santoshi has changed the title of the script which he had given them for Backstreet Boyz to Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani for Tips and is making the same film which he was supposed to make for
them.
Santoshi had earlier been dragged to court by Keshu Ramsay over money matters and also by Tips for going over budget with their film, The Legend of Bhagat Singh. The Keshu Ramsay case is still going on in the
court while the Tips one it is learnt has been settled out of court.
