Anupam Kher met real police officers to bring authenticity to his character of a Police Commissioner in his forthcoming film, A Wednesday.
He stated, "Since my
role is that of a Police Commissioner, I met Mumbai top cops such as Rakesh Maria and Javed Ahmed while doing research for my role. When I actually interacted with
Javed Ahmed, that time he was anti terrorism squad head.
We met over dinner and I narrated the story of A Wednesday to him and he simply loved it. I observed
these top officials very carefully and have tried to imbibe their calmness in my character."
He further added, "Though I have been acting since past so many years, I won't lie in saying that it was not easy to play this particular role, in fact the most difficult part of it
was to constantly be that person, it was no casual acting.
It was very difficult. As a home work I tried watching few films, which I thought on the similar lines
like...Day of the Jackal etc. But all these things just confused me more and more, so finally I decided to be my own reference point."
